P-Glass Filament is the latest in advances for 3D printers, using a mix of PolyCarbonate and PETG it can produce prints with a glass effect similar in strength to ABS prints. This is not your regular filament so please read the note below to ensure you have great results. The 'Glass Fibre' is a cloudy fiber in appearance but strong like the transparent options. Glass Fiber P-Glass Filament 1.75mm High Transparency, PC & PETG Composite 3D Printer Filament better than ABS. Features: The composite polymer material of PC and PETG imitates glass material; it has high transparency, good rigidity, toughness and strength; its transmittance is more than 92%, haze is 0.2%, and its optical performance is better than that of glass. . Color: Transparent Wire diameter: 1.75mm Net weight: 0.5 or 1kg / Gross weight: approx 1.4kg Printing temperature: 200-220°C Hot bed temperature: 60-100°C Printing thickness: 0.3mm/0.5mm thick shell, strong and rigid P-glass printing test experience: Temperature test: filament comparison at 170,180, 190, 200 and 210°C It is impossible to melt and extrude if below 170°C, from 170 to 190°C extrusion may come out white or cloudy or with a matt finish due to incomplete melting, similar to PLA transparent material extrusion. At 200 to 210°C, the filament is transparent, glossy and bright, and the transparency is similar to that of glass; Therefore, the printing range of 200-220°C is recommended. Printing difficulty: P-glass printing difficulty coefficient is higher than PLA, but it is still easy to print. The material itself has better rigidity, firmness and toughness than PLA. It can print thin shell objects, or single-layer appearance. Thin walls less than 1mm can also be printed, P-glass is very strong. However, when printing with P-glass, pay attention to the first few layers of the bottom contacting the platform. When the printer is leveling, the distance between the nozzle and the platform needs to be be well controlled, if the distance is too large, P-glass is may cool and curl on the platform, with potential for the nozzle to drag the filament away, resulting in unsuccessful printing of the previous layers. If the distance is too close to the platform when the nozzle is leveled, the front layers will lead to poor discharge when printing, the front layers will not be very flat when printing, the poor discharge will lead to more burrs at the bottom, the nozzle will absorb burrs when moving, and the longer printing time will accumulate more and more burrs on the nozzle wall, so it is necessary to peel off the filament from the nozzle wall in time Once the bottom layers are printed, it is similar to PLA to continue to print on the top layer. It is recommended to print objects with simple structure such as thin shell, water cup, lampshade, etc. and objects with regular direction in each layer. It is not recommended to print objects with complex structure such as: objects with many empty walks and nodes in each layer; the thicker the printing is, the less transparent the P-glass is, the thinner the layer the better for transparency, but test with smaller prints first.
